the pursuit of favorits: pearl street grill

lets just start out with the interesting story before getting into the actual enjoyment of this place. do you ever wonder why i am rarely included in photos of active eating? well, here is a perfectly wonderful example. i am much better behind the camera. not because i think other people arent as good, but because i just look plain evil when im eating! i think this means that i am just completely incapable of being a model. maybe i will improve one day. i really hope i do. the secret to being a model seems to be ignoring the presence of the camera completely, even when looking at it. its the process of ignoring that is so hard for me to do though! i keep focusing on it! i think this night was an extra angry one or something though. or maybe it was because i had to pose too long in order to ensure a lack of blurriness. i dont have a good explanation. its either that or i just look evil while eating. and without further ado, i present my evil eatingness!

haha! how worse of a model could i possibly be?! please, someone help me out! i need serious model lessons! handsome did help me out a bit. the third try ended up infinitely better if i do say so myself! but not as funny either. a win lose situation? perhaps. which is more entertaining for you to admire? haha

well, now on to the more boring part of the post. at least in comparison to the above haha! i had found a super cool guide on the colorado local first site that i mentioned earlier that has restaurants listed as well as what percentage of their food is produced locally in colorado, percentage that is organic, if they compost and if they recycle. each restaurant only as one of these aspects listed, but it is interesting to know a bit more about the business you are supporting as well as what kind of food you are consuming. it is my favorite list to choose restaurants from! well anyway, i picked this super awesome restaurant off that list to try for dinner and there was a two hour wait for two people on a monday night! i could not believe it was so long! i decided that the only explanation is that the place i chose is completely awesome. we decided to head somewhere else and try the other place during my next visit to denver and actually make reservations so that we can enjoy our meal without a super long wait. i am super excited to try it next time! i really hope it lives up to the high standards i have created for it. after trying to figure out what we should do for dinner without knowing where anything is, we ended up right across the street from stellas coffeehaus (where we were earlier that day) at the pearl street grill.

what we ate. me: brie sandwich with carmelized onions and apples with a cup of french onion soup (my love!). handsome: rotisserie pulled chicken sandwich with pepper jack cheese, chipotle ranch and crispy onions. handsome's meal was much better than mine. my sandwich tasted a bit plain. but the soup was delicious!

we really loved the atmosphere of this place. i could see myself going here to enjoy a few beers with sweet potato fries and handsome said the bar area reminded him of how i met your mother. who wouldnt want to be a regular at a bar similar to the one on how i met your mother?! they also have wifi so you can enjoy anything your heart desires!

overall, we really liked this place. it seems like a great place to enjoy a few beers and food. i should have taken more pictures of the bar area so that you could get a better feel for it. maybe i will next time! you can kind of see it through the window in the first picture. for now, this will have to do!
